By booking a space with Studio Labs, you accept the following Terms & Conditions, without exception.

general 

You are not permitted to subcontract or sublet the studio or equipment to any third parties. You are responsible for all other crew or subjects required for the shoot. Please ensure that everyone on your shoot is respectful of the space and facilities and that they are kept safe at all times.

Although you will have exclusive use of the specific studio booked, please note that there may be other people present in the other studio space, the adjoined film photography business, and the common spaces. Everyone will ensure that there is minimum disruption to your event or shoot. Please be respectful of other people in the studios and keep loud music or excessive noise to a minimum if others are also working in the space.

Studio Labs is not liable for acts out of its control that affect the shoot, such as power outages, weather, or emergencies. In such cases, a portion of the your payment and/or a reschedule of the studio booking may be negotiated.

No smoking is allowed on any part of the studio premises.

Minors must be supervised at all times.

COVID-19  policy 

Please ensure you and your crew have no cold or flu symptoms on the day of your shoot. If anyone is feeling unwell, please do not come to the studio and seek medical advice. You have a duty of care to ensure that your crew also adheres to this request. Thank you.

Bookings  &  Cancellations

Bookings are processed via our online booking system here.

50 percent of your rate will be charged at the time of booking, with the remaining percentage invoiced to you 24 hours before the studio booking time and date.

TIME

The booking time includes all your bump-in and bump-out requirements, including all set-up and pack-up time. Others are able to book from the end of your booking time. Thus, please ensure you book the right amount of time. Please arrive on time and ensure you are packed up and ready to leave by your scheduled finish time. Any extra time required over your booking will be charged in accordance with the rates listed on our website.   

NO-SHOWS, CANCELLATION & RESCHEDULING

Failure to arrive for a booking will incur 100 percent of the total booking fee.

We understand that cancellations are often out of your control. You may cancel your booking by emailing us at studiolabs.adl@outlook.com.au.

Cancellations with less than 48 hours notice will incur a charge equal to 90 percent of the total fee.

Cancellations between 48 hours and 7 days’ notice will incur a fee equal to 50 percent of the total fee.

If you need to cancel or reschedule due to COVID-19 or unforeseen circumstances, please contact us at studiolabs.adl@outlook.com.au. These requests will be treated on a case-by-case basis.

Rescheduled bookings (due to unforeseen circumstances) that are rescheduled beyond 7 days of the original booking will have no additional charges if the booking still goes ahead on the new date.

Studio Labs reserves the right to cancel a studio session at any time, in advance or without notice. If you have paid a deposit, this will be refunded back to you within 7 business days.

Equipment

Any extra equipment or props hired, or otherwise included in the price of the package, is not to leave the premises and must be used with care. The lights must not be used in a rapid-fire style or they will overheat and stop working. Please handle modifiers carefully and avoid putting softboxes face down to keep the white surface clean.

Any damage caused to the equipment or props during hire will be your responsibility and you will be expected to cover the costs of repairing or replacing any damaged equipment.

cleaning

The studio is provided in an ‘as is’ condition. Upon leaving the studio, it is expected that all areas used will be left in the exact condition they were provided to you in.

The cyclorama floor is painted with a low sheen paint that can be cleaned where marking occurs. We have a flat mop with cleaning fluid that can be squirted out and mopped for basic cleaning.

In the event of severe marking or ultra-heavy use for larger shoots, it is likely the floor will need to be painted. A painting fee of up to $300 could be charged for heavy use. Any other damage to the floor or the curves will also incur a repair fee. Please ensure that the cyclorama incurs minimal marking and be mindful of damage when using the cyclorama.

Please do not wear socks or shoes on the cyclorama. Please also avoid walking on the floor outside of the cyclorama with bare feet and then tracking any dust or dirt onto the cyclorama. If shoes are needed for the shoot, please be mindful not to damage the cyclorama floor or curves and only wear them when needed. 

A cleaning fee of $60 will be charged if the studio is left unsatisfactory. If a cleaner is required, we will invoice you the cleaning fee within 7 days. The same will apply in the case of damage to the cyclorama.

ID Check

Studio Labs can be used without its staff present. In cases where the premises are not staffed, you are required to complete an identity check prior to your booking. You will be sent a link within 8 hours, once you have made your booking. If you do not receive this link, you will not be required to complete the identity check. If you have previously used Studio Labs, you will not be required to complete the check again.

You will be unable to book a studio space within 48 hours due to this identity check. If you require a booking within that window, please email studiolabs.adl@outlook.com.au. We will endeavour to accommodate your requests.

risk  &  liability 

The use of the Studio Labs premises and equipment is at your own risk. You hereby waive rights to seek legal redress for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damage, injury, or loss to you, your party, or possessions whilst on the premises.

You are solely responsible for any legal infraction you or members of your party make during the conduct of the shoot, be they in our studio or elsewhere. This includes parking tickets, all other violations or citations, and legal action resulting from the conduct of the shoot, taken at whatever time.
 
You agree to hold harmless Studio Labs, its owners, agents, representatives, and contractors acting on its behalf for any loss, accident, or injury to yourself or anyone who accompanies you while on our premises. 
 
You agree to be solely responsible for the conduct and welfare of all persons accompanying you while on our premises. You are solely responsible for the safety and well-being of any models you engage, as well as ensuring they are of legal age for the activities they are to be engaged in.
 
You understand that if Studio Labs staff observes dangerous, pornographic, illegal, or negligent practices or activities being engaged in, Studio Labs reserves the right to stop the shoot and require you and your party to leave immediately. However, Studio Labs assumes no responsibility to act in such cases.  

You agree to hold Studio Labs, its agents, representatives, and anyone acting on behalf of you completely harmless from any action, legal or otherwise, that results from your conduct.

You understand and agree that a Studio Labs representative may be present in the studio when you are using it.

Studio Labs has insured the studio premises and our own equipment against all normal insurable risks but not further or otherwise. You are responsible for insuring your own equipment and personal property and that belonging to your clients, assistants, associated personnel, and other third-party individuals.
 
You agree to indemnify Studio Labs against any costs including legal costs, damages, payments, fines, or interests Studio Labs may incur as a result of you breaching this agreement.

Studio Labs is not for loss or damage (including loss of earnings) incurred by you or acts out of the control of Studio Labs, including (but not limited to) power outages, severe weather, emergencies, civil disturbance, or industrial action. In such cases, Studio Labs may refund a portion of your payment or reschedule the booking.

PHOTOGRAPHY

Studio Labs is not liable for any action, mistakes, or otherwise, of the photographer booked by the client, whether through the recommended creators or photography package. Any issues arising from the use of a photographer in Studio Labs is to be addressed with the photographer. The photographer is not an employee of Studio Labs, and therefore, conducts their business separate from Studio Labs.

Studio Labs is only responsible for issues directly related to the obligations associated with the studio. For clarity, this means Studio Labs not providing all items associated with the inclusions of your booking (e.g. well kept furniture, functioning lighting, all listed backdrops, etc.), excluding the photographer. Studio Labs will endeavour to rectify any issues which arise from the direct obligations of Studio Labs.

SUBSCRIPTION Service

All subscribers are subjected to the same terms and conditions set out on this page.

Please note that there is a minimum term of 2 months. You can cancel any time after the minimum term.

PRIVACY

What do we do with your information?

When you make a purchase from our store, we will collect the personal information you give us, such as your name, address and email address, as part of the buying and selling process. When you browse through our store, we will also automatically receive your computer’s Internet Protocol (IP) address in order to provide us with information that helps us learn about your browser and operating system. With your permission, we may send you emails about our store, new products and other updates

Consent

When you provide us with personal information to complete a transaction, it implies that you consent to the collection of your personal information and using it for that specific reason only. If we ask for your personal information for a secondary reason, such as marketing through the form of newsletters, we will either seek for your expressed consent, or provide you with an opportunity to say no.

If you change your mind after you opted-in, you may withdraw your consent for us to contact you and for the continued collection, use or disclosure of your information at any time by contacting us at studiolabs.adl@outlook.com. 

Disclosure

We may disclose your personal information if we are required by law to do so or if you violate our Terms of Service.

Squarespace 

Our store is hosted on Squarespace. They provide us with an online e-commerce platform that allows us to sell our products and services to you. Your data is stored through Squarespace’s data storage, databases and the general Shopify application. They store your data on a secure server behind a firewall. 

If you choose a direct payment gateway to complete your purchase, then Squarespace stores your credit card data. It is encrypted through the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS). Your purchase transaction data is stored only as long as is necessary to complete your purchase transaction. After that is complete, your purchase transaction information is deleted.

All direct payment gateways adhere to the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. PCI-DSS requirements help to ensure the secure handling of credit card information by our store and its service providers.

Third-Party Services

In general, the third-party providers used by us will only collect, use and disclose your information to the extent necessary to allow them to perform the services they provide to us.

However, certain third-party service providers, such as payment gateways and other payment transaction processors, have their own privacy policies with respect to the information we are required to provide to them for your purchase-related transactions.

We recommend that you read their privacy policies to understand the manner in which the providers will handle your personal information.

In particular, remember that certain providers may be located in or have facilities that are in a different jurisdiction than either you or us. So if you elect to proceed with a transaction that involves the services of a third-party service provider, then your information may become subject to the laws of the jurisdiction(s) in which that service provider or its facilities are located.

Once you leave our store’s website or are redirected to a third-party website or application, you are no longer governed by this Privacy Policy or our website’s Terms of Service.

When you click on links on our store, they may direct you away from our site. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of other sites and encourage you to read their privacy statements.

Our store uses Google Analytics to help us learn about who visits our site and what pages are being looked at.

Security

To protect your personal information, we take reasonable precautions and follow industry best practices to make sure it is not inappropriately lost, misused, accessed, disclosed, altered or destroyed.

If you provide us with your credit card information, the information is encrypted using secure socket layer technology (SSL) and stored with AES-256 encryption. Although no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, we follow all PCI-DSS requirements and implement additional generally accepted industry standards.

Studio Labs reserves the right to terminate this agreement at any time with or without notice if you have breached any terms of this agreement or for unforeseeable circumstances that prevent you from fulfilling the agreement.
